The Relation Between Mean Platelet Volume and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

چکیده
Objectives:The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) and mean platelet volume (MPV) in which is raleted with angiogenesis, thrombosis, immunity inflammation.
Material Methods:Between 2013 2019, 1660 patients underwent mini-open decompression 1056 healthy individuals were included as control grup respectively. After exclusion criteria are provide, determined 166 CTS 156 two groups. In groups, MPV, count (PLT), distribution width (PDW), white blood cell(WBC) count, haemoglobin (Hb), ESR CRP levels obtained from venous samples drawn after 12-h fasting recorded retrospectively hospital database. In addition, taken group at postoperative 6th 12th month controls values studied before operation re-recorded file.
Results:Among patients, only there a significant difference MPV 6 months postoperatively compared baseline (p=0.027). No detected inthe 1 year (p=0.70). no differences found or other parameters (platelet widthand, haemoglobin) controls.
Conclusion:We that our study. We believe further prospective studies larger sample size needed elucidate topic.

ACUPUNCTURE AND CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME About carpal tunnel syndrome
Carpal tunnel syndrome comprises potentially disabling sensory and/or motor symptoms in the hand. Around 1 in 10 people develop carpal tunnel syndrome at some point, and it is particularly common in women (Hughes 2007), with one study in the UK indicating an incidence of 139.4 cases per 100,000 women per year and 67.2 cases per 100,000 men (Bland 2003). The condition carries considerable implic...
متن کاملThe carpal tunnel syndrome.
The carpal tunnel is a channel with fibroosseous walls leading from the deep flexor space of the forearm into the palm of the hand. Superficially it is bounded by the flexor retinaculum which stretches from the trapezium and scaphoid laterally to the pisiform and hamate medially. This tough sheet blends proximally with the deep fascia of the forearm and distally with the palmar aponeurosis. The...
متن کاملPressures in the carpal tunnel. A comparison between patients with carpal tunnel syndrome and normal subjects.
We studied pressure in the carpal tunnel in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome and in normal control subjects, using a slit catheter and recording in the neutral position, 90 degrees dorsiflexion, and 90 degrees palmarflexion of the wrist. For each position the mean pressure in the patients was very significantly higher than in the controls, the highest pressure being in 90 degrees dorsiflexi...
متن کاملThe Relationship between Nerve Conduction Studies and Electromyography Findings in Patients with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Background: Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most common neuropathy in the general population. Nerve conduction studies are among the standard methods for diagnosing carpal tunnel syndrome. Electromyography is painful and unpleasant, and if nerve conduction studies can be used to diagnose axonal injury in carpal tunnel syndrome, electromyography might be replaced. Objectives: This study aimed t...
